SPX95 SDM
The SPX90/95 masts have a very high concentration of carbon fibre (90% carbon in RDM and 95% carbon in SDM) and are therefore extremely strong. Compared to TPX100 we built an additional safety layer of strength: a loop with an increased prepreg thickness spirally wound around the mast. This layer does not affect the stiffness or bend curve of the mast but increases the strength. It reinforces the column and prevents the mast ovalization during compression, eliminating the main reason of mast breakages.
The new NeilPryde mast program is based around three performance levels: TPX100, SPX90-95 and SPX65.
All new masts are made using pre-preg technology that ensures optimum control of resin content and resin distribution throughout the laminate (avoiding risk of dry spots that could cause local weakness).
All new masts are featuring our unique Progressive Flex & Bend Curve, compatible with previous sail models. Higher performance level masts will have higher carbon content reducing the weight of the mast as well as significantly increasing reflex and overall performance.
Every NeilPryde sail will perform to its highest potential when used with the specified NeilPryde mast because our sails are designed around our mast curves.
The NeilPryde RDM masts are compatible in curve with NeilPryde SDM Masts. Choose a RDM mast for a softer, more forgiving feel and durability and a SDM mast for faster response, stability and more direct feel.
We recommend the use of SDM Masts on cambered sails
- Shark skin TPX and SPX masts are finished using our unique, "Shark skin" surface texture layer. This low friction surface finish prevents wet materials to stick onto the mast surface and reduces friction.
- 2+1 Year Warranty NeilPryde offers a twenty four month warranty on all masts apart from Dragonfly, from the date of purchase by the original retail customer. A warranty extension of twelve months, giving a total of thirty-six months, may be obtained by registering online within thirty days of purchase.
