Flymount started in Tarifa during the winter of 2005
Waterproof digital cameras had just started coming onto the market, and we were using them to film ourselves windsurfing.
There weren’t really any specific action cameras back then, but those early compacts worked pretty well, and we could attach them to our equipment.
The first Flymounts were homemade, using off the shelf components, but we quickly evolved the design to cope with the extreme forces exerted on a windsurf rig.
After a few different generations of the concept, we realised that our mounts would hold a camera securely on anything.
